chiropractic care

To those of you who have kids with PFFD or have PFFD yourself, have you ever looked into chiropractic care as part of the treatment? I've been wondering about the impact to my daughter's spine with walking the way she does (she has a 3 inch leg difference) and if spinal adjustments would slightly decrease the leg length difference. Any thoughts?

Hi
I do not have an exact answer to this question. Just wanted to give you some info on my situation in hopes that it will give you things to consider. I am 22 years old and had four leg lengthenings over my life, gaining 14 inches!! I have had scoliosis b/c of the leg discrepancy since I was in about fourth or fifth grade. It has gotten worse over the years of course. I have seen a back doctor and had xrays done, about 3 years ago, and really should get a follow up done on that. I have not ever seen a chiropractor. I have some back pain sometimes, especially when I'm walking, and this is largerly b/c my knee does not bend more than abou 80 degrees and I walk with a slight limp (since my muscles in my right leg are weaker than the left side), even though my legs are the same length (I had some complications after my final surgery, got laid up for almost 2 years straight, and kind of gave up on PT, which I shouldn't have, and it contributed to where I am today unfortunately). PT is great, keep up with that. Also, the more advice you get the better. I have had a lot of good results from seeing holistic doctors, so you might want to check into that, especially if the holistic MD is a chiropractor too. Acupuncture is great for relaxing muscles, helping with PT , and my affected leg even had a bit of growth because of it my doctors are convinced!!! Not sure if insurance covers it, mine didn't ever I don't think.

Best of luck!
