HEY EVERYONE.... I'M AN ARTIST & MY WEBSITE HAS SOME DRAWINGS HAVING TO DO WITH LIMB DEFICIENCY AND PFFD... THE DRAWINGS ON THE SITE RIGHT NOW ARE KIND OF DARK, BUT I HAVE SOME 'HAPPIER' STUFF THAT I'LL BE POSTING ON THERE SOON. WOULD LOVE FEEDBACK.
JENNIFER
your art
Hi Jennifer,
I've had a look at your work and it's very good, definitely a bit dark. I'm intrigued and interested to see your 'happier' stuff, also why pffd specifically took your eye for inspiration?
Is the medical leaflet on pffd with your illustrations available to view online anywhere, I'm in the UK and don't know if it was just a US thing?
Be good if they were on your website as well.
Look forward to hearing from you.
Dave Bailey
Thanks!
Thanks for taking a look. I have bilateral PFFD, which is why I find it so interesting (I have an above knee amputation on one side and no treatment on the other). I'm in the process of scanning in the book and posting it on my site. You can also obtain copies by contacting the Shriners Hospital in Tampa, Florida. I'm hoping to do more of the educational stuff as well. I find it really cathartic to do the kind of art that I do and even though it may seem a little dark sometimes, I like to have that kind of outlet. It's like singwriters, I think. I write music as well and I always find that my favorite songs are sad songs. You know, the whole tortured artist thing. I thinks that's why so many songwriters stop writing really good songs once they have kids. Because you're so darn happy, there's not too much to complain about. The medical illustrations I hope to have on my site by this weekend, so please do visit my site again (www.jenniferlathamrobinson.com).
What a coincidence?
Wow!
I too have bilateral PFFD and am an above knee amp on my right side, no treatment on my left side, (it's a small world! :) ) and to finish the package i was born with only half my left arm. Do you have fibula hemimelia as well?, i do, and have my one remaining shin dimple thingy, so cute.
I will definitely take a look at your site again with interest.
Take care.
