Looking for information on help available in the Seattle area

Hi. We live in Fairbanks, and my beautiful 6 month old Emmaly has unilateral PFFD affecting her right femur. We are planning to move to the Olympic Peninsula of Washington this summer (we have family there), and I was wondering if anyone here lives in that area and/or knows of any good doctors, facilities, support groups, anything in the Seattle area.
Thanks!
-Rachael

Shriners Hospitals are hospitals that offer free care to children with pffd (among other conditions). My daughter goes to the one in Philadelphia, PA. But I checked and there is one in Spokane, WA. I don't know how close that is to you. If needed, Shriner's will also provide travel (and lodging, I think) free of charge. You might want to check them out. There is also a Shriners in Portland OR which is actually closer driving distance from the Seattle area (3.5 hours). Spokane is more than 4 hours away and over a mountain pass. Currently we take our 3 year old son to Children's Hospital in Seattle, they have a fabulous Limb Difficiency clinic. However, our health insurance has changed and doesn't cover as much so finances may dictate that we check out Shriner's as well!

I live in Portland Oregon which is about 2.5 hours from Olympia. We have an absolutely fabulous Shriners Hospital in Portland. Ivan Krajbich, one of the leading doctors who treats PFFD is the Chief of Staff here in Portland. He has been seeing my Daughter Robyn since she was six months old. I would HIGHLY suggest seeing the docs here in Portland. You can reach Shriners hospital at either 503-241-5090 or 888-548-1814. If you have any other questions I would be more than happy to give you anything you need (just to talk, answer questions, ect). My daughter is now nine and we have looked at all the treatment options. She is short on her right leg as well and we have been doing this for some time.
