Retreat/Conference

Hi-

I know we talked about this subject this past summer, but nothing really came of it. I would like to bring the subject up again ad see if we could possibly get somehting planned?

When People magazine approached our family about doing the PFFD story about out daughter Lilly and her friend Maya, our main reason was so we could hopefully meet other families with PFFD. We had formed this amazing friendship with the Albert's and hoped it would happen to us again, and it has! We've met, written and spoken to some amazing people and formed some more friendships since the article came out.

All I hope is for this to happen to other families too. I think it would be great for us all to meet face to face and experience some memories that will be always treasured.

I have done some research on the location below. I think a retreat here would be great. You can use the links below to view the site.

Here are some of the open dates at the Miracle Lodge.

June 4-7
July 9-12
July 16-19
Aug 7-9
Aug 27-30

Some of the activities they suggested: Meet & greet…swim, archery, sling shot, mini farm, crafts, movie night, Trail Rides/Pony rides, face painting, in addition to your ideas.

Typically our prices for 2 overnight/ meeting room/ 4 meals is $125 per adult, $65 age 4-13 and no charge 3 and under. Extra night $10 ….. extra meals to be determined….

Some things we need to figure out:
*How many families would attend? (price will decrease if there is a good size group)
*What date(s) work for you?
*What other activities would you enjoy doing?

Thanks and hope we can get something planned for this year!

Hi Jenny--

I would seriously consider coming to something in August! It would be SO EXCITING for me in so many ways, and might actually give Charlie and I a chance to take a vacation--and to finally meet you all face to face!!!!

Keep me posted -- I will find the money somehow!!

Happy Easter,
Sheila

My daughter who has PFFD and myself would love to join everyone for this reatreat. We live in KY. She has bilateral PFFD.
