has anyone been to Dun Laoighre
We were in dun laoighre today getting the casting done for our daughters right leg, as we are still trying to decide about the leg lenghtening as we are from Ireland and no one here will do this procedure. Today when i asked what kind of a prosthesic she was getting and they just said an extension one as she already has her foot pointing downwards, does anyon know what this is or is there anything else we could consider?
have you spoken to ids
hi when we were going the through decision process we went to ids in cappagh hospital .they went through to whole process with us but advised us to lenghten and gave shoe lifts for roberts leg .we eventually came around to lenghtening after checking all other avenues. its a really tough process but well worth it in long term . we also attended sean boylan,s clinic in dunboyne and got herbs to help roberts circulation and he recieved amatsu physio .that really helped so much . we came in at the clinic with another family going through the same as us .they also attend mr moore,s clinic in crumlin . out side of that we bring robert to hydro therapy. it really is a tough path. all i can say take your time and explore all avenues and the decision will come.
What should i do?
We were sent to Dun Laoighre, how would i go about contacting the ids in cappagh or would we have to be sent there by a doctor? We were with Dr Paley he said he wold be happy to assist to Caoimhe, she would ned super hip and super knee surgery first then 3 lenghtenings after that starting at age 4.
Club Foot
For club feet I think the treatment these days (2008) is the Ponseti Method. http://www.uihealthcare.com/topics/medicaldepartments/orthopaedics/clubf...
